CG Saraswati Cycle Yojana to Relaunch Soon: On 1 August 2024, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has announced to restart Saraswati Cycle Yojana and apply online process would begin soon. This scheme was earlier running in the Raman Singh led BJP government in the year 2018. However, previous Congress government in CG state has stopped its implementation. Now after 5 years of inactivity, CG govt. will start implementing Saraswati Bicycle Distribution Scheme across the state.

About CG Saraswati Cycle Yojana 2024
All the girl students belonging to SC/ST/ BPL category who studying in class 9th in any government/govt-aided school in Chhattisgarh would be given cycles absolutely free of cost. This Saraswati Cycle Yojana aims to make travel to the school easy and encourage girl education.Objectives of CG Saraswati Bicycle Yojana
Under Saraswati Cycle Yojana, free cycles are being distributed to girl students to:-- Provide transportation facilities to the girl students of class 9th studying in government schools and aided non-government schools.
- Encourage girl child education.
- Reduce the school dropout rate under this scheme,
- Make it easier and safer for girls to travel to school

Eligibility Criteria for CG Free Cycle Scheme for Girls
The following categories of citizens are eligible for the Chhattisgarh Saraswati Cycle Scheme:-- Applicant must be a permanent resident of Chhattisgarh state only.
- Only girl applicants can apply for free bicycle.
- Girl student must belong to either Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) or Below Poverty Line (BPL) category.
- Girl candidate must be studying in class 9th.
- Only those girl students who are studying in any government or govt. aided school located in the CG state only would be eligible.
Chhattisgarh Saraswati Cycle Yojana Application Process (Offline)
- The applicant should first contact the headmaster of the concerned school or institution.
- Applicants can also approach the District Education Officer (DEO) to apply for this scheme.
- Then the applicant will have to get Chhattisgarh Saraswati Cycle Yojana application form.
- Now fill in all the information asked in the application form accurately.
- Attach all the necessary documents with the filled in CG Free Cycle Yojana application form.
- The application form has to be submitted.
- The CG Saraswati Bicycle Yojana application form will be verified by the concerned officer.
- The applicant will be informed after the approval of the CG Saraswati Cycle Distribution Scheme application form.
- Beneficiary girls are selected by the principal on the basis of caste certificate and B.P.L category. Selection of girls of the class related to K.B.P.L. is done on card basis.
