Maharashtra government is soon going to relaunch Anandacha Shidha Kit Scheme 2024. Under this Anandacha Shida scheme, the state govt. will provide food kits worth Rs. 100 to over 1.70 crore families having saffron ration card. This distribution of ration kits would be held during the upcoming Ganesh festival (15th Aug to 15 Sept) as part of its Anandacha Shidha scheme (kit of joy). This year, the Anandacha Shidha kits will include one kilogram each of rava (suji), chana dal, and sugar, along with one liter of soybean oil. The scheme will run from August 15 to September 15. The government has expedited the tender process, reducing it from 21 days to eight days to ensure timely delivery. The total cost of the scheme is estimated at Rs 562.51 crore.
"The kit will be available at ration shops once the tenders are finalized. Distribution will occur over 30 days, starting from August 15," said an official from the Food and Civil Supplies Department. This scheme is part of the broader package of sops announced by the state government to lure Maharashtra voters in anticipation of the assembly elections.
The state government has earmarked Rs. 25,500 crore for the CM Majhi Ladki Bahin scheme, which provides monthly financial aid of Rs. 1,500 directly to women aged 21 to 65. Additionally, Rs 5,500 crore will be allocated to the Chief Minister Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana internship scheme for unemployed youth. The government will also cover 100% of tuition and examination fees for girls from OBC and EWS category with an annual family income of up to Rs. 8 lakh. Furthermore, the Chief Minister Teerth Darshan Yojana will offer senior citizens with an annual income of up to Rs 2.5 lakh Rs 30,000 to cover travel, accommodation and food expenses.
Government of Maharashtra vide GR dated 03.10.2023, included two items namely Poha and Maida each of 500 grams in the “Anandacha Shidha” kit. Then kit included 6 commodities viz. 1 kg Sugar, 1 liter of edible oil and Rava, Chanadal, Maida and Poha in quantity of half kilogram each on the occassion of Diwali-2023. The beneficiaries of the kit included Antyodaya Anna Yojana and Priority households as defined in the National Food Security Act, 2013. The kits were also distributed to the APL farmer (saffron) cardholders of fourteen districts that were identified as suicide prone districts (these include districts of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Amravati division and Wardha district from Nagpur Division). The said kits were distributed @ ₹ 100/- per kit. Accordingly, out of 1.58 crore sanctioned kits, 1.578 crore kits (about 99.70%) had been distributed to eligible ration card holders.
About Anandacha Shidha Kit Scheme 2024 in Maharashtra
Anandacha Shidha Kit Scheme was first introduced in 2022 during Diwali, providing four food items at a concessional rate of Rs. 100 to families with saffron ration cards. Similar kits were distributed in 2023 for Gudi Padwa, Dr. Ambedkar's birth anniversary, Ganesh Festival, and Diwali. Aanandacha Shidha Kits Distribution on Shri Ram Pranpratishtha & Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, 2024
Maharashtra Government vide GR dated 11.01.2024, on the festive occasion of Shri Ram Pranpratishtha & Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, announced distribution of 1,60,29,362 "Anandacha Shidha kits. It included six commodities:-- One kilogram Sugar,
- Half kilogram of Suji,
- Half kilogram of Chana dal,
- One litre of edible oil,
- Half kilogram of Poha,
- Half kilogram of Maida.
The beneficiaries of the kit included Antyodaya Anna Yojana and Priority households as defined in the National Food Security Act, 2013. The Anandacha Shidha kits were also distributed to the APL farmer (saffron) cardholders of 14 districts identified as suicide prone districts (these include districts of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Amravati division and Wardha district from Nagpur Division). The Anandacha Shida kits were being distributed @ ₹ 100/- per kit. Accordingly, out of 1.60 crore sanctioned kits, 1.589 crore kits (about 99.16%) had been distributed to eligible ration card holders in Maharashtra.

Government of Maharashtra vide GR dated 22.08.2023, on the festive occasion of Gudhi Padwa, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti, etc. announced distribution of "Anandacha Shidha" kits that included four commodities:-- One kilogram of Suji,
- One kilogram of Chana dal,
- One kilogram of Sugar,
- One litre of edible oil.
This was in addition to the regular distribution of foodgrains. The beneficiaries of the kit included Antyodaya Anna Yojana and Priority households as defined in the National Food Security Act, 2013. The kit were also distributed to the APL farmer (saffron) cardholders of 14 districts that were identified as suicide prone districts (these include districts of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Amravati division and Wardha district from Nagpur Division).
