Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Sh. Eknath Shinde, has announced to launch Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana on 29 June 2024. Under the new scheme, rules are to be framed that would enable senior citizens to undertake their pilgrimage journey, irrespective of their religion. About Maharashtra Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana 2024
Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde announced Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana, a pilgrimage scheme for senior citizens from all religions. The scheme is aimed at helping the elderly people who are unable to visit the religious sites on their own. While making announcement, CM said "The scheme titled Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana will be for the senior citizens of all religions".
Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana Online Registration form can be filled through official website and anyone can even submit manual application. For Maharashtra Tirth Yatra Yojna, counters of SDM office and MLA offices would serve as facilitation counters.
All the senior citizens who are residents of Maharashtra state and are willing to visit pilgrimage places in India can apply online for Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana. Applicants will have to enter their correct personal details, govt. approved ID, bank passbook, date of birth proof, mobile number to make Maharashtra Tirth Darshan Yojana Registration. Applicants can even apply through offline application process to avail benefits of CM Teerth Yatra Scheme.
Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant/spouse must be a resident of the Maharashtra state.
- The applicant must have completed 60 years of age (As on 1st January of the year in which the Application for availing the Yojana is submitted).
- The applicant/spouse must NOT be employed with Central/State Government or Local/Autonomous bodies.
- The applicant/spouse must NOT have ever availed the scheme in the past.
- The age of the attendant must be more than 21 years (In case opting for attendant)
Documents Required for Maharashtra Teerth Darshan Yojna
- Application in the prescribed Form along with Self Declaration.
- Voter Id card of the Applicant, Spouse and Attendant.
- Self-Attested copy of Medical certificate mentioning the applicant/Spouse is mentally/physically fit to undertake the proposed journey.
- Copy of Certificate from MLA for residence of his/her constituency.
- One Passport size Coloured Photograph of the applicant
- should include full face, front view and open eyes
- should be of full head from top of hair to shoulder
- should be in a plain white or off-white background
- shouldn't be shadows on the face or background
- should have a natural expression (closed mouth)
- should not include sunglasses or hats
How to Apply Online for Maharashtra CM Free Pilgrimage Scheme
Any resident of the Maharashtra state aged 60 or above can go to pilgrimage under Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana after acquiring a certificate from a local MLA, stating that he lives in the legislator's constituency. One attendant aged 21 yrs or more can accompany each traveller whose expenses will also be taken up by the Maharashtra government. Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Yojna has been announced by CM Eknath Shinde on 29 June 2024 and would launch soon. All expenses related to travel, food and accommodation are borne by the state govt. of Maharashtra.

- In case it is found that any applicant/spouse has ever availed the Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana in the past, he/she will be liable to repay the entire amount incurred for the yatra along with a penalty of 25%.
- Applicant/Spouse above 60 years of age will have a choice to take one attendant with him provided the age of attended must be above 21 years of age.
- Incase travelling with spouse, the facility of only one attendant will be available.
- Incase applicants won't be able to undertake the pilgrimage, he/she has to provide intimation upto the 07 days before the travel date. Otherwise, he/she shall not be eligible to apply under this scheme again.
- The Yatris will not be allowed to take or use any inflammable material or liquor or any intoxicating articles.
- Yatris will be fully responsible for his/her jewellary and belongings during the yatra.
- Yatris are expected to behave in a civilized manner as per the requirements of the TirthYatra.
- Yatris are required to follow the instructions of the Liason Officer.
- The Maharashtra state govt. will not be responsible for any accident or mis-happening during the journey.
Need for Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana in Maharashtra
India is always known for its diverse cultural heritage and has several pilgrimage places. Several senior citizens are unable to fulfil their dream of going on a pilgrimage owing to financial restrictions. Even if funds are not an issue, either they do not have anyone to accompany them, or are unaware of how to go for the pilgrimage. So, the state govt. of Maharashtra has decided to launch a specific pilgrimage scheme namely Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana.
Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Yojana in Other Indian States
Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Yojana is becoming popular these days. Similar to Maharashtra, several state governments are introducing it for their residents like Haryana, Delhi and Punjab. Some other states like Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are also running their teerth yatra schemes in the name of Varishtha Nagrik Tirth Yatra Yojana and MP Tirth Darshan Yojana respectively.
