Andhra Pradesh government has launched Chandranna Pelli Kanuka Scheme 2024 to promote inter caste marriages. In Chandranna Pelli Kanuka, AP state govt will provide marriage assistance to poor girls from the SC, ST and OBC category on their wedding with person from other caste. It is worth noting that earlier during YSRCP rule, this scheme was running in the name of YSR Kalyanamasthu Scheme. It has now been renamed to Chandranna Pelli Kanuka Scheme under the new TDP led CM Chandrababu Naidu rule.

About Chandranna Pelli Kanuka Scheme 2024

Chandranna Pelli Kanuka Scheme aims to provide financial assistance to economically weaker sections of society for marriage expenses. Under this scheme, AP govt. will support families from various social categories like scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and other backward classes by alleviating their financial burden associated with wedding ceremonies.

Chandranna Pelli Kanuka Eligibility Criteria

• Residency: The applicant must be a resident of Andhra Pradesh.
• Caste Category: Chandranna Pelli Kanuka scheme includes people from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories as well as those from other economically weaker sections.
• Age Criteria: The minimum age for the bride and groom should align with the legal age of marriage in India, which is 18 years for women and 21 years for men.
• Educational Qualification: Both bride and groom must have passed atleast 10th class.

Financial Assistance under Chandranna Pelli Kanuka Scheme

The amount of financial assistance provided under this Chandranna Pelli Kanuka scheme varies based on the caste category and other socio-economic factors. This amount is specified time to time by the AP state government. As per the initial reports, the specified amount is Rs. 1 lakh which to be revised by AP government after the official guidelines are released.

• Registration: Eligible applicants must register for the scheme, usually through an online portal or at designated government offices.
• Documentation: Necessary documents include proof of residence, income certificate, age proof, caste certificate, and wedding invitation.
• Approval: After the submission of the application and verification of documents, the authorities approve the financial aid, which is then disbursed to the beneficiary's bank account.
