Swami Vivekananda Scholarship for Academic Excellence apply online process to begin from 1 April 2024. The scholarship provides 100% tuition and covers a monthly expense for 500 students of state domicile. This new scheme is a revamped version of the earlier Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship for Academic Excellence.

Its primary objective is to provide financial assistance to students native to Rajasthan who aspire to pursue undergraduate, postgraduate, PhD, and post-doctoral research programmes. This support extends to universities ranked 1-150 globally according to the latest Times Higher Education ranking and the top 50 institutions in India as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).

Out of the total, 22 seats are reserved for BE, B Tech, B Arch, MBBS, and BDS. The courses applicable under the scheme include Post Doctoral, PhD, Masters, and Undergraduate degrees with a maximum duration of four years. The portal will be open from April 1 until the completion of the process in four phases, ending on January 15.
"The maximum age of the applicant must be 35 years, and he/she must have Rajasthan domicile to avail the scholarship," the document stated.

Rajasthan government mulls to spend Rs. 215 crore during the current FY 2024-25 on education scholarship scheme to help meritorious students study in top foreign and Indian universities. The government has renamed the scheme as the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship for Academic Excellence (SVS). It was instituted by the previous Congress government under the name of the Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship for Academic Excellence.In 2021-22, when the scheme was launched, 73 students benefited from it, and over Rs. 5 crore were allocated to it. In 2023-24, the state government spent over Rs. 107 crore and the number of students who benefited from it rose to 372. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said the scholarship initiative underscored the government's dedication to empowering students through higher education.

Swami Vivekananda Scholarship Scheme Rajasthan 2024 Apply Online
- Applicant to log in to RajSSO Portal (https://sso.rajasthan.gov.in/signin) using his/her SSO ID.
- If SSOID is not available then the applicant to first register on RajSSO Portal to create SSOID and update SSO Profile at first login.
- After successful authentication/login and updation of the SSO ID Profile and select the scheme name.
- Select his/her name, the bank account and fill in personal details.

Eligibility Criteria for Swami Vivekananda Scholarship Scheme in Rajasthan
The notification issued on 11 March 2024 states that the only criteria to apply for the scheme is to secure admission in the listed universities/institutes. Additionally, scholorship will be given on basis of three income criteria -
- E1 for families with an annual income of up to Rs. 8 lakh,
- E2 for families with incomes between Rs. 8 and Rs. 25 lakh, and
- E3 for families with incomes above Rs. 25 lakh.
Seats Allocation in Rajasthan Swami Vivekananda Scholarship Yojana
As per the new rules, "The priority will be given to E1 category students. In case the seats remain vacant in the E1 category, they will be allocated to E2 and E3 categories".
