Under this scheme, the state govt. will provide financial assistance to boys studying in govt. schools from class 6th to 12th. This scheme for boys is implemented on the same lines of Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Pudhumai Penn Scheme for welfare of girls.

- For First Time Student Login:
- User name: The user name is the EMIS/UMIS number (you may get it from your respective institute nodal officer). For example, 9*******12
- Password: The default password is an 8-digit combination of the last 4 digits of their mobile number registered in UMIS and their year of birth.
- For example, if your mobile number is 9876-05-4321 and your DOB is 12/09/1999, then the password is '43211999'.

Benefits of Tamizh Pudhalvan Scheme 2024
- It would help in improving gross enrolment ratio of boys in colleges by at least 10%.
- The govt said that Tamil Pudhalvan Scheme will benefit around 3.28 lakh students.
- The Tamilnadu govt said that the scheme will cost Rs. 401.47 crore every year.
- Assistance amount will be deposited directed into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through National Automated Clearance House (NACH).
- There is no income ceiling or reservation criteria to avail benefits of the scheme.
- The govt has also established an online grievance redress mechanism to help students.

Dear Institutions, To streamline and accelerate the registration process for the Tamizh Pudhalvan Scheme, TN govt. requests each institution to create 20 additional user accounts in the institution's login system using the User Management feature in UMIS TNeGA. Tamizh Puthalvan Thittam Govt Order
Tamizh Pudhalvan Scheme govt. order (GO) has been released by the CM M.K Stalin led state government on July 27, 2024. According to the govt. order, all the male students who go to colleges after studying in govt and govt-aided schools with Tamil as a medium of instruction from class 6th to 12th would be benefited. Tamil Nadu govt. will provide monthly financial assistance of Rs. 1000 to all the eligible beneficiaries. The govt. will extend the aid until they complete their graduation or diploma or ITI courses.
Just like Pudumai Penn Thittam scheme provides Rs. 1,000 monthly assistance to girls, the new initiative will benefit boys. Under Tamizh Puthalvan Thittam, each eligible male beneficiary is entitled to get Rs. 1,000 per month as assistance.
Tamizh Pudhalvan Scheme in Tamilnadu Budget 2024-25
On 19th Feb 2024, Finance Minister presented TN Budget 2024-25. While presenting the budget, FM said "The Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Pudhumai Penn Scheme has been successful in achieving the objective of increasing enrolment of girls and has now revolutionised the participation of girls in higher educational institutions. On the same lines, to help boys from poor and marginalized background, studying in Government schools, realize their dreams of higher education and transform them into achievers, a grand scheme 'Tamizh Pudhalvan' will be implemented from the coming financial year".
FM said "Under this scheme, boys who have studied in Government schools from 6th to 12th standard will be provided financial assistance of Rs. 1,000 per month in their bank accounts directly. This assistance would enable them to purchase textbooks, general knowledge books and magazines to improve their academic performance. Through such initiatives, the potential of the youth will be harnessed and channelized to enable them to become future pillars of our State and the Nation. This ambitious scheme will benefit around 3 lakh students and will be implemented at a cost of Rs. 360 crore from the coming year".
