Gujarat government has launched Shramik Annapurna Yojana 2024-2025 to provide meals at a cost of Rs. 5. Under the Shramik Annapurna Yojna, meals are being provided at kadianakas (labour gathering points) in several districts of the state. Shramik Annapurna Yojana in Gujarat Budget 2024-2025

Finance Minister presented Gujarat Budget 2024-2025 on 2 February 2024. FM said "Under the Shramik Annapurna Yojana, 273 centres are currently running to provide healthy meals to the labourers at a nominal rate of Rs. 5. In these centres, on an average more than 40,000 labourers eat every day. Under this scheme, 100 new food distribution centres will be started. A provision of Rs. 131 crore for this scheme".

About Shramik Annapurna Yojana 2024-25 

Under Shramik Annapurna Yojana, workers are provided with meals that include items such as pulses, potatoes, mixed vegetables, roti (Indian bread), rice, lentils/dal, jaggery, and once a week, sukhadi (a sweet dish) or sheera (a sweet semolina dessert) is also given. 

Each meal is subsidized by the government and workers receive a complete meal for just Rs 5, with the government providing a subsidy of Rs 37 for each meal.


How to Get Meals under Shramik Annapoorna Yojna

  • Meals can be obtained by the workers with the help of an e-Nirman card at all centers of Shramik Annapurna.
  • By scanning the QR code, one can get a one-time meal as a tiffin or on the spot. 
  • The beneficiaries, who do not have an e-Nirman card, are registered temporarily at the booth and then they can get food for 15 days.
