Himachal Pradesh government has announced HP Mukhyamantri Sukh Shiksha Yojana (MSSY) on 17 Feb 2024. Under the CM Sukh Shiksha Scheme, govt. will bear the expenses of education of children up to 27 years of age of all widows whose annual income is less than Rs. 1 lakh per annum. Mukhyamantri Sukh Shiksha Yojana (MSSY) in HP Budget 2024-25
On 17 February 2024, Finance Minister presented Himachal Pradesh Budget 2024-25. While presenting the budget, FM said "I also announce the launch of a new scheme 'Mukhya Mantri Sukh-Shiksha Yojana'. Under this, the
State Government will bear the expenses of the
education of children up to 27 years of age of all such
widows in the State, whose annual income from all
sources is less than Rs. 1 lakh".
FM added "This assistance will be
provided to these children after they get admission in medical college, engineering college, NIT, IIM, IIT,
Nursing, graduation/ postgraduation courses. Apart
from this, Rs. 1,000 per month will be deposited in the
RD accounts of all eligible children of widows, destitute,
divorced and disabled parents till they attain the age of
18 years. The annual premium for health insurance of all
eligible women will be borne by the State Government.
Approximately Rs. 41 crore additional expenditure will
be made on this".

Objective of Mukhya Mantri Sukh Shiksha Yojana
Mukhyamantri Sukh Shiksha Yojana aims to bear expenses for education of children of poor widows. Any beneficiary can avail education assistance till the age of upto 27 years. The state govt. wants that no one is deprived of education due to financial crunch.

The state govt. will bear complete expenses of education under मुख्यमंत्री सुख शिक्षा योजना to the children of widows (fulfilling the eligibility) after they get admission in:-
- Medical college,
- Engineering college,
- NIT,
- IIM,
- IIT,
- Nursing,
- Graduation courses,
- Postgraduation courses.

Eligibility Criteria for Chief Minister Sukh Shiksha Yojana (CMSSY)
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of Himachal Pradesh
- Applicant must be less than 27 years of age.
- He/She must be a children of a widow.
- The annual income of the widow must not exceed Rs. 1 lakh per annum.

How to Apply Online for Mukhyamantri Sukh Shiksha Yojna
- First of all, visit the official website of Mukhyamantri Sukh Shiksha Yojana.
- On the homepage, click at "Apply" link.
- Upon clicking the link, the MSSY online registration form will open.
- Fill in the asked details accurately and upload necessary documents as mentioned above.
- Review your filled in information in the application form through online mode.
- Finally, click on the "Submit" button to send your application to the concerned authorities for approval.
