Class 6 / 9 Admission in Delhi 2024-25 - How to Apply Online, Documents, Eligibility, Dates

Directorate of Education (DoE) is inviting online applications for class 6 / 9 admissions in Delhi govt. schools. As per the notification, apply online process for Delhi School Admission 2024-25 (Non-Plan) for classes 6th and 9th has started from 8th April 2024. Delhi Govt School Non Plan Admissions for Class 6th & 9th

The DoE has commenced the registration process for admission to Delhi government schools for classes 6 to 9 for the academic session 2024-25 from 8th April. Parents who seek admission of their children in Delhi government schools are required to fill out the registration form through the official website, edudel.nic.in.

The admission process for Delhi government schools under the non-plan category will be conducted in three cycles. The deadline to register for admission in the first cycle is April 17. The DOE will issue the school allotment list of registered students on April 29. The document submission and verification process for admission to the allotted school will begin from April 30 to May 10, 2024.

Students currently enrolled or placed under the National Service Scheme (NSO) in government or government-aided schools should contact their last attended school for guidance on transfer or readmission procedures, the official notice read.

Circular for Class 6 / 9 Admission in Delhi 2024-25 

Education department has issued guidelines for admissions to class VI and IX in government schools through the Non Plan Admission (Delhi government school admission 2024) scheme. The admission process has been started on April 8. A circular regarding this has been issued by the school branch of the directorate. 

The circular stated that "All the parents seeking admissions of their children in govt. schools under Directorate of Education (except those presently studying / placed under NSO in govt. / govt-aided schools are hereby informed that non-plan admissions in classes 6th to 9th for the academic session 2024-25 has been started from 8-4-2024 with online registration of applicants".

How to Apply Online for Delhi Class 6th/9th School Admission

Parents of the children seeking admission in Govt. Schools have to register the details of their children online as per below mentioned schedule. The Link for submission of online Registration form is available on the Home page of Department's website https://www.edudel.nic.in/ under the link "Govt. School Admissions".

However, for admission to class VI, applicants declared pass/promoted in class V will be registered online while out of school children will be physically registered in any school nearer to their residence. Therefore, all the parents whose child has not studied in a school and having age group of 10-12 years may register their ward in any school nearer to their residence where the child will be assessed for Foundational Literacy & Numeracy. Class of admission of the child will be finalized after his/her assessment. 

List of Documents Required for Delhi Class 6th / 9th Admission

• One Passport-size photograph of the child,
• a) For class VI to VIII: Countersigned School leaving certificate of a recognized school OR Original Date of Birth Certificate issued by MCD or any other Local Body OR an Undertaking by the Parents regarding Date of Birth. b) For class IX: Countersigned School leaving certificate of a recognized school.
• Mark sheet of previous class passed (if applicable).
• Any of the following documents as residence proof of Delhi:-
• BPL Card/Ration Card issued in the name of parents having name of the child. 
• Domicile certificate of child or parents.
• Voter Identity card of any of the parent.
• Electricity bill / MTNL telephone bill / water bill in the name of any of the parents. 
• Bank Passbook in the name of child or any of the parents. 
• Aadhaar Card of child/any of the parents. 
• Passport in the name of child or any of the parents. 
• Driving license of any of the parents. 
• Certificate of Caste (in case of SC/ST/ OBC) (if applicable). 
• Certificate of disability (in case of Divyang Student).

Eligibility Criteria Delhi Non Plan Admission 2024-25

Only parents/children residing in Delhi are eligible to apply under Non Plan Admission. The online registration form has been designed in simple format. It can be filled using smart phone also. However, if any parent requires support in filling it, they can approach the Help Desk at nearest school. The desk will also assist the parents in filling and submitting online form.

Age Criteria for Delhi Govt Schools Admissions (Class 6th & 9th)  

Normal age criteria for admission in the classes 6th to 9th (as on 31 March 2024) is given as under:-

• Class 6th - completed the age of 10 years but less than 12 years
• Class 7th - completed the age of 11 years but less than 13 years
• Class 8th - completed the age of 12 years but less than 14 years
• Class 9th - completed the age of 13 years but less than 15 years
