Assam government has announced Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan 2024 (Lakhpati Baideo Scheme) for women entrepreneurs. Under this scheme, the state govt. will provide financial support to women self-help groups in rural areas. Mukhya Mantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyaan in Assam Budget 2024-25
On 12 February 2024, Finance Minister presented Assam budget 2024-25. While presenting the budget FM said "Mukhya Mantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyaan, an
ambitious mission aimed at promoting
entrepreneurial spirit of our women. Our Government's twin objectives are to strengthen
income of our women entrepreneurs and also to
establish them as business entrepreneurs in Amrit
Kaal. We will provide an entrepreneurship fund of Rs.
10,000 to each one of 39,67,743 women members
of Self-Help Groups in the rural areas, subject to
certain conditions, throughout the State. Once they avail this benefit, we commit to facilitate a
bank loan of minimum of Rs. 25,000 to each
beneficiary. Furthermore, upon the prudent
utilization and timely repayment of the loan amount,
a capital subsidy of Rs. 12,500 will be provided to
the beneficiary.
FM added "Thus, each beneficiary would get a minimum of Rs.
47,500 as grant, subsidy and loan together. The distribution of application forms to the SHG
members for availing the same has already been
started. I am glad to announce that we shall extend the
implementation of this scheme in urban areas also
as Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita AbhiyaanNogoria covering approximately 2.5 lakh SHG
members. I allocate adequate resources for the successful
implementation of this scheme".
About Assam Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan 2024
Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan aims to develop 40 lakh women SHG members as rural micro entrepreneurs or Lakhpati Baideos and ensure an annual income of Rs. 1 lakh for each member.
Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan Assam 2024 Application Form
- Forms will be available at nearest Panchayat Office free of cost.
- Forms have to be collected on specified date only. No photostat will be accepted.
- Submit two Sankalp Patras: Female child enrolled in school, restricting number of children as specified below.
Assam Lakhpati Baideo Scheme Eligibility Criteria
- Should not have more than 3 children (for General and OBC beneficiaries)
- Should not have more than 4 children (for SC/ST/Moran/Matak/Tea-tribes' beneficiaries)
- SHG member having girl child should enrol her/them in school if they have attained the age
- The trees planted under Amrit Brikshya Andolan should be surviving
- Submit a business plan to avail the grant (plan to be prepared and supported by Govt)
Benefits of Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyaan
- Rs. 10,000 to every member on fulfilling eligibility criteria in first year
- Rs. 12,500 from Govt and Rs. 12,500 from Bank (total Rs. 25,000) over next 2 years
- The bank loan needs to be returned back, while Govt support is non-refundable
- Rs. 35,000 spread over 3 years to every eligible women, in their endevaour towards becoming Lakhpati Baideo
Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan Amount
In Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyaan, Rs. 35000 would be given to around 40 lakh rural women entrepreneurs. The distribution of the amount under Assam Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan 2024 would be as follows:-
- In the 1st year, govt. will give an initial amount of Rs. 10,000.
- In the 2nd year, govt. will give Rs. 12,500 to beneficiaries. Also bank will give loan amount of Rs. 12,500 to the beneficiaries.
The bank loan will have to be repaid by the beneficiary while govt. support is non refundable. CM said that this year the annual income of 7 lakh women engaged with self-help groups has gone up to Rs 1 lakh.
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on MMUA Scheme
CM said "There are certain criteria for women beneficiaries - women in general and OBC categories should not have more than 3 children. The women beneficiaries from Moran, Matak, Tea Community and SC/ST should have a maximum of only 4 children. Members having girl children who are of school-going age should ensure that they are admitted to school".
He further said that there are 39 lakh women in the rural areas who are involved with Self Help Groups (SHGs) and 3 lakh women in the urban areas. "The state cabinet has already decided to launch the scheme," the Assam Chief Minister said.
