Kanyashree Prakalpa Scheme in West Bengal Budget 2024-25

On 8th February 2024, FM presented West Bengal Budget 2024-25. While presenting the Budget, Finance minister said "Kanyashree Prakalpa, the Government of West Bengal’s scheme for the empowerment of adolescent girls, has completed a decade of implementation and has brought 85.53 lakh beneficiaries under its umbrella. In 2023-24 so far, 20.69 lakh girls enrolled for Kanyashree's Annual Scholarship, and 4.20 lakh girls for its One-Time Grant. The budget provision for the scheme Rs. 1,550.13 crore".

FM added that government of West Bengal has been at the forefront of ensuring wellbeing of its women through schemes like Kanyashree Prakalpa. 

Kanyashree Status Check with Applicant ID, Date of Birth

• First of all, go the official Kanyashree Status Check link https://www.wbkanyashree.gov.in/kp_track_status.php
• Then a page to track application status for Kanyashree Prakalpa scheme will open.

• Here you can select year, type of scheme, applicant ID, date of birth, captcha and click at "Submit" button to check Kanyashree Status through online mode.
• Process to track both K1 and K2 Kanyashree status is explained below.

K1 Kanyashree Payment Status Check Online

• First of all, go the official Kanyashree Status Check link https://www.wbkanyashree.gov.in/kp_track_status.php
• Then a page to track application status for Kanyashree Prakalpa scheme will open as mentioned above.
• Here we are selecting the year as "2016-17", type of scheme as "Annual Scholarship (Form K1/Renewal)", Applicant ID as "19080314305160000058" and Date of Birth as "04/04/2002" as shown here.

• Note that we have selected the year as "2016-17" because a girl gets annual scholarship of Rs. 1000 only when she is b/w the age of 13 to 18 years under K1 component of Kanyashree Prakalpa scheme. 
• Then we have entered captcha and click at "Submit" button which will open Kanyashree K1 payment status checking page as shown below:-

• You can track information about various stages including Kanyashree K1 amount sanction status.

West Bengal Kanyashree K2 Status Check Online 

• First of all, go the official Kanyashree Status Check link https://www.wbkanyashree.gov.in/kp_track_status.php
• Then a page to track application status for Kanyashree Prakalpa scheme will open.
• Here we are selecting the year as "2020-21", type of scheme as "One Time Grant (Form K2/Upgradation)", Applicant ID as "19080314305160000058" and Date of Birth as "04/04/2002" as shown here.

• Note that we have selected year as "2020-21" because one time grant of Rs. 25000 is only given on girl completing the age of 18 years under K2 component of Kanyashree scheme. 
• Then we have entered captcha and click at "Submit" button which will open Kanyashree K2 status check online page as shown below:-

What are K1 & K2 in Kanyashree Prakalpa Scheme

Kanyashree's core objectives are simple and focussed: it aims to ensure that girls stay in school and delay their marriages till at least age 18. Kanyashree's approach is also simple: it uses a social safety net mechanism that has shown a high degree of success in transforming the lives of children and adolescents in several countries in the world: Conditional Cash Transfers. The scheme has two cash transfer components:-

• K1 - The first is an Annual incentive of Rs. 1000/- to be paid annually to the girls in the age group 13 to 18 years (studying in Class VIII equivalent or above for every year that they remained in education, provided they are unmarried at the time.
• K2 - The second is a One-Time Grant of Rs. 25,000/-, to be paid after a girl turns 18, provided that she was engaged in an academic or occupational pursuit and was unmarried.
