Higher and technical education department proposes to implement Jharkhand CM Fellowship Scheme 2024. Jharkhand CM Fellowship Scheme 2024
Jharkhand govt. is going to launch new schemes such as CM Fellowship Scheme for Academic Excellence, Manki Munda Scholarship for girls and the Jharkhand Higher Education Merit Scholarship scheme in the state from next academic session, said principal secretary of the Higher and Technical Education Department, on 12 January 2024 (Friday).
Addressing the media persons at Suchna Bhawan, secretary said that under the CM fellowship programme, 1,000 candidates pursuing PhD from government and private universities would be provided fellowship. The students who have qualified the National Eligibility Tests conducted by UGC and the CSIR would get Rs 25,000 per month and the Jharkhand Eligibility Test qualified students would be provided Rs 22,500 per month for a period of four years.
Jharkhand CM Fellowship Yojana Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of Jharkhand state.
- This scheme is only applicable for those students who are pursuing PhD from govt. and private universities.
Jharkhand Chief Minister's Fellowship Amount
- The students who have qualified the National Eligibility Tests conducted by UGC and the CSIR would get Rs. 25,000 per month for 4 years.
- The students who have qualified Jharkhand Eligibility Test would be provided Rs. 22,500 per month for a period of four years.

Other Initiatives of Higher and Technical Education Department Jharkhand
Principal Secretary of Higher and Technical Education dept. said that govt. is in an advanced stage of rationalisation of courses and the teaching and non-teaching posts in all state universities. "Department would also fix the intake in colleges according to their teaching strength and infrastructure."
Jharkhand state government is developing the state-wide Learning Management System, which would enable students to take advantages of free courses and also those with nominal costs conducted by top educational institutions of the country.
Secretary said that a memorandum of understanding has been signed with Delhi University for rolling out e-samarth, which would improve transparency and monitoring of constituent colleges and universities. He also spoke on draft of model university act for private institutions, enhancement of salary of time based college teachers to Rs. 57,700 per month, construction of a digital planetarium in Neterhat and the Guruji students credit card.
