Tripura government has launched Mukhyamantri Yuba Yogayog Yojana scheme for the academic year 2024. Under this scheme, the state govt. will provide reimbursement grant for purchasing of smartphone. Allocation for Smartphone Purchase to Graduates in Tripura

In order to bridge the digital divide, Finance Minister announced that Tripura govt. has allocated Rs. 10 crore for providing financial assistance to graduates for purchasing smartphones in the current fiscal year. This comes as part of the ongoing Mukhyamantri Yuva Yogayog Yojana. The scheme underscores the state government's commitment to empowering the youth and advancing digital inclusion in alignment with national goals.

Highlighting the significance of this initiative, FM said "In the financial year 2020-21, our government launched this scheme to ensure youth, especially those from financially challenged families, have access to smartphones. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a digital India is achievable only if the youth can access the internet and smart devices. Smartphones help keep individuals informed about global developments."

The scheme, designed to support graduates from government institutions, encountered delays in the fiscal year 2021-22 due to technical issues. Addressing these delays, FM stated "Tripura govt. has approved the pending applications from that year, following a cabinet decision. Around 12,000 students who graduated that year will receive Rs 5,000 each to purchase a smartphone. The IT department will release the funds through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) once the bills are submitted.”

Since its inception, the Mukhyamantri Yuva Yogayog Yojana has benefitted over 40,000 graduates. "Since the scheme's inception, 40,215 graduates have received Rs 5,000 grants for smartphones, totaling over Rs 20 crore. For this fiscal year, we allocated Rs 10 crore. While spending may exceed this allocation due to an increase in the number of graduates, there are no funding constraints for this scheme," Finance Minister added.

Tripura Mukhyamantri Yuba Yogayog Yojana Apply Online  

Every student of final year shall apply with in time as early as possible through BMS portal (https://bms.tripura.gov.in/bms/). Citizen Registration and Login is mandatory to avail the smart phone reimbursement facility of Rs. 5000/- which will be credited to the student bank account. Student may purchase mobile phone having cost more than Rs. 5000, but Tripura govt. will be providing reimbursement grant of maximum Rs. 5000 to each student. 
Finance Minister highlighted that state govt has started e-Office project in every govt offices and has aimed to achieve the paperless office with in 31st December, 2024. Nowadays, smartphone is very essential electronic device for students specially for online courses or classes. Govt. has aimed to provide this technical assistance as students should not lagging behind.

It is not possible for all the Parents to purchase Smartphone for their son, daughter, that's why government has extended financial grant to students since FY 2020-2021. Students shall inspire their friends to apply for MYYY Scheme and also make them apply as per procedure in BMS Portal.

Number of Beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Yuva Yogayog Yojana

Mukhyamantri Yuba Yogayog Yojana has been implemented from FY 2020-21 and here are the number of beneficiaries in year wise format:-
  • FY 2020-21 - 7,274 Students
  • FY 2021-2022 - 9,579 Students
  • FY 2022-23 - 11,892 Students
  • FY 2023-24 - 19,796 Students
  • FY 2024-25 - To be Announced
In the first 3 financial years of launch of MYYY scheme, a total of 28,745 students got benefitted with an amount of Rs. 14.37 Cr (approx.). Last year, it was estimated that number of students will be near about 12000 and accordingly, budget provision was made only for Rs. 6 Crore. But Chief Minister then decided that all the 19,796 students had to be included under the scheme. For this purpose, the fund requirement was increased to Rs. 9.49 Crore. This year i.e. FY 2024-25, the total number of students is expected to be more than 20,000. Exact number would be announced by the concerned authorities soon.

  • For the final year students of Tripura for academic year 2023-24, Mukhyamantri Yuba Yogayog Yojana application submission last date was up to 15th January, 2024.
