UGC will soon invite Ishan Uday Scholarship Scheme 2024-25 online application / registration form at scholarships.gov.in. Ishan Uday Special Scholarship Scheme 2024 aims to provide equal opportunities for higher studies and to increase gross enrolment ratio (GER) in North Eastern Region. This scheme will focus more on professional education in the north east. 

Under Ishan Uday scholarship scheme, 10000 scholarships at the rate of Rs. 8,000/- per month for 10 months in a year are given to students belonging to economical weaker sections of North Eastern Region. Ishan Uday Scholarship Scheme 2024-25 Online Registration Form

• First of all, you can go to National Scholarship Portal https://scholarships.gov.in/
• Once you reached there, click at "Fresh Application" link under 'Application Submission for AY 2024-25' section.
• Then Ishan Uday Special Scholarship Scheme fresh application login page will get displayed.

• Now you must click at "New Student ? Register Here" link.
• On next page, you must read the instructions, keep mentioned documents handy, agree to conditions and proceed to fill Ishan Uday Scholarship Scheme online registration form

• You can make registration through Aadhar card number or EID and fill online registration form for Ishan Uday scholarship.
• Then you can make login at fresh application login page.

Ishan Uday Special Scholarship Scheme Renewal Application

• First of all, you can go to National Scholarship Portal https://scholarships.gov.in/
• Once you reached there, click at "Renewal Application" link under 'Application Submission for AY 2024-25' section.
• Then Ishan Uday Scholarship Scheme renewal application login page will get displayed.

• You can login into your account for the current academic year. Application Id is same as last year Student Registration Id.
• In case of completion of course, you can not apply for renewal.
• Students eligible for renewal are advised not to apply in fresh category as duplicate applications will be rejected by NSP. In you want to apply for Fresh, withdraw your Renewal Application from NSP.

Eligibility Criteria for Ishan Uday Scholarship

• The scholarship is open to those students who have passed Class XII or equivalent examination from a school situated within NER through a recognized Board of Education including Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE), National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). 
• The scholarship is available for those students only, who are pursuing a recognized UG degree programmes as specified and notified by UGC from time to time. 
• Only the students, who are already admitted in the first year of UG degree programme in an eligible university/college/institution within India, are eligible to apply. In other words, a student who has secured admission in UG programme in the academic year 2021-22 will be eligible for selection in the year 2021-22 only.
• The scholarship is available to the students for first UG Degree only. Students, who have already acquired any degree, are not eligible to apply. 
• The scholarship will be given for the duration of study of UG programme as specified by UGC for each programme, from the start of class in the first year/semester. 
• In case of ‘integrated’ and ‘dual degree’ programmes, the scholarship will be payable for the UG component only.
• The scholarship is available for students who are admitted in UG degree programme through ‘Regular/Full Time’ mode only. The students, who are pursuing any UG programme through open/ distance/ correspondence/ private/ part-time mode, are not eligible to apply. 
• Students gaining admission through ‘Management Quota’ are not eligible to apply. 
• The income of the parents of the student should be below Rs. 4.50 lakh per annum. Students, whose parents' annual income is Rs. 4.50 lakh or more, are not eligible to apply. 
• Student should have a valid Domicile Certificate of any State of NER.

A student is eligible to receive only one scholarship at a time. The student is required to declare that he/she is not in receipt of any other scholarship/monetary benefit from any other source and that he/she will not accept/receive any other monetary benefit/scholarship from any other source.

Aadhaar has been made mandatory for disbursement of all Government subsidies/Scholarships/ Fellowships which are disbursed directly into the beneficiary’s account. Accordingly, Aadhaar will be used as an Identifier for release of grant under the scheme and also the bank account of the candidate is required to be Aadhaar linked/verified.

Ishan Uday Scholarship Amount

Ten thousand (10000) Scholarships, at the rate of Rs. 8,000/- per month for 10 months in a year, are available for students belonging to economical weaker section of North Eastern Region. 50% of slots under each category are earmarked for Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Law, Management. The remaining 50% are earmarked for Science, Engineering & Technology, medical, technical, agriculture, forestry programmes. 

The selection under the Ishan Uday special scholarship schemes is done purely on the basis of State-wise merit from among the candidates who have applied for the scholarship under the scheme, through online mode only, on the designated portal, i.e., National Scholarship Portal of Government of India.

Note that for the year 2023-24, Ishan Uday Scholarship Scheme was closed on 15 January 2024.
