About Odisha Mo Ghara Yojana 2024
To support economically and socially vulnerable households, Odisha's CM Naveen Patnaik on 29 May 2023 announced Mo Ghara (My House) scheme. This Mo Ghara Yojana seeks to provide credit-linked financial assistance to those struggling to complete or upgrade their homes. New govt. housing assistance scheme for people in rural areas aims to address financial obstacles faced by beneficiaries, fills a critical gap left by existing housing schemes.Mo Ghara Scheme promises to aid families that were previously excluded due to rigid eligibility criteria or insufficient allocation. It also aims to support those who received less significant amounts in the past and now wish to upgrade or expand their homes.

Salient Features of Rural Housing Mo-Ghara Scheme
- To ensure construction/ extension/ up-gradation / completion of houses to meet the aspiration of the lower and lower-middle households of rural Odisha.
- Construction and extension of houses will be pucca in nature with RCC roof only.
- Upgradation - Replacement of existing roof by RCC Roof with ancillary work related to roof replacement.
- Completion - Completing the incomplete house with the RCC roof, fixing doors & windows, flooring, plastering and colouring etc.
Loan Slabs in Odisha Govt Housing Assistance Scheme for Rural Areas
Under Mo Ghara Yojana, the beneficiary will avail banking loan up to Rs. 3 lakh which will be repaid within 10 years excluding 1 year moratorium. There will be 4 loan slabs:-
- Rs. 1 lakh,
- Rs. 1.5 Lakh,
- Rs. 2 lakh,
- Rs. 3 lakh
Beneficiary can opt for any one out of them. State Government will release capital subsidy against the principal amount to the loan account of the beneficiary after completion of house. Additional capital subsidy for vulnerable categories like SCs / STs and PwD headed households. The beneficiaries can also avail support under relevant schemes of rural sanitation, drinking water, rural electrification etc. if found eligible and not availed earlier.
Eligibility Criteria for Mo Ghara Yojana Odisha
All the households staying in rural Odisha will be eligible under this scheme
except the following categories of households:-
- Those staying in the pucca house having 2 or more rooms with RCC roof.
- Households availed housing assistance of Rs. 70,000 or above under any Rural Housing Scheme in the past.
- If the income of the family per month is Rs.25,000 or above.
- Possessing a non-commercial motorized Four-Wheeler.
- Household with any member as a regular Government / PSU employee or drawing a monthly pension for the service period from Government / PSU.
- Ownership of 5 acres or above of irrigated land or 15 acres or above of non-irrigated land.
