Maharashtra Modi Awas Gharkul Yojana 2024 - PM Modi Transferred 1st Installment

Dear friends, Modi Awas Gharkul Yojana 1st installment has been transferred by PM Modi on 28th Feb 2024. This Modi Awas Yojana for OBC was earlier announced in Maharashtra Budget 2023-24. The state govt. aims to construct 10,00,000 houses for OBC category people in next 3 years with an outlay of Rs. 12,000 crore. Modi Awas Gharkul Yojana 1st Installment Transfer

On 28th Feb 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi transferred first installment under Modi Awas Gharkul Yojana. A sum of Rs. 375 crore has been transferred into bank accounts of 2.50 lakh beneficiaries. While launching the scheme, PM Modi also credited 2nd and 3rd installment under Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana worth Rs. 3800 crore to benefit 88 lakh farmers in Maharashtra. On the same day, PM Modi even disbursed 16th installment under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana worth Rs. 21000 crore.

Cabinet Approval for Modi Awas Gharkul Yojana

The Shinde-Fadnavis government recently gave its nod to construct 10 lakh houses at a cost of Rs. 12,000 crore over the next three years for the Other Backward Classes (OBC) in the state. Modi Awas Gharkul Yojana (MAGY), was announced by dy. CM Devendra Fadnavis, who was the finance minister, in his budget presented in March.

What is Modi Awas Gharkul Yojana (MAGY)

MAGY has been launched to accommodate the applicants left out of PM Awas Yojana (PMAY). The applicants not covered in PMAY and are from SC or ST category have other dedicated housing schemes in their departments. The OBCs left out of PMAY had no such support. The MAGY announced by the deputy CM takes care of such aspirants.

Eligibility for Modi Awas Gharkul Yojana 

The MAGY scheme, which applies to rural beneficiaries with an annual income of less than Rs. 1.20 lakh, has aimed at constructing three lakh houses until March 2024. In the second year, 2024-25, three lakh more houses are planned to be constructed, while in the third year, four lakh houses are planned to be constructed. The state government has decided to spend Rs. 3,600 each for the first two years and Rs. 4,800 crore in the third year on the scheme.

Modi Awas Gharkul Yojana will be available to the OBC families with no house of their own and the ones who have land available for construction. The state has also made the provision of Rs. 50,000 for the purchase of land for the landless beneficiaries. The applicants can avail additional Rs. 12,000 for the construction of the toilet under Swachh Bharat Yojana and labour costs under the employment guarantee scheme (EGS) to make the construction feasible.

A committee headed by the chief executive officer of the district council has been appointed as the nodal agency to implement the housing scheme in the rural parts.

Modi Awas Gharkul Yojana in Maharashtra Budget 2023-24

Finance minister presented Maharashtra Budget 2023-24 on 9 March 2023. While delivering Maharashtra Budget Speech 2023-24, FM said the following things:-
  • "Homes for all" is a very ambitious scheme of Honourable Prime Minister. A program of 10 lakhs houses is being undertaken in rural areas in the State as well. 
  • Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 4 lakhs houses will be constructed this year. 
  • Out of this, 60%, that is 2.5 lakh houses will be for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) beneficiaries. 
  • Around 40%, that is 1.5 lakh houses will be for other categories. 
  • In the Ramai Awas Yojana, 1.5 lakh houses will be constructed with an outlay of Rs. 1800 crores, out of which 25,000 houses will be for the Matang community. 
  • One lakh houses will be constructed by spending Rs. 1200 crores in Shabri, Pardhi and Adim Awas Yojana.
  • In the Yashwantrao Chavan Mukt Vasahat Yojana, 25,000 houses will be built for the vimukt jathi and nomadic tribes and 25,000 houses for the beneficiaries of the Dhangar community. Rs. 600 crores will be made available for this. 
  • A new Housing scheme namely Modi Awas Gharkul Yojana will be launched for construction of 10 lakhs houses for other backward class beneficiaries in the next three years. 
  • Out of these, around 3 lakh houses will be completed in the year 2023-24 at a cost of Rs. 3,600 crores. 
  • An outlay of Rs. 12,000 crores will be made available for Modi Awas Yojana in the next three years. 

मोदी आवास घरकुल योजनेचा शुभारंभ (in Marathi)

  • ओबीसींसाठी 3 वर्षात 10 लाख घरांची मोदी आवास घरकुल योजना सुरू होणार आहे.
  • येत्या तीन वर्षांत यासाठी 12 हजार कोटी रुपये उपलब्ध करून दिले जाणार आहेत.
  • त्यापैकी यावर्षी 3 लाख घरे बांधली जाणार असून त्यासाठी 3600 कोटी रुपये खर्च केले जाणार आहेत.
  • प्रधानमंत्री आवास योजनेंतर्गत 4 लाख घरे बांधण्यात येणार असून त्यापैकी 2.5 लाख घरे SC आणि ST आणि 1.5 लाख घरे इतर प्रवर्गासाठी असतील.
  • रमाई आवास योजनेत 1.5 लाख घरांसाठी 1800 कोटी रुपयांची तरतूद असून, त्यापैकी किमान 25 हजार घरे मातंग समाजासाठी असतील.
  • शबरी, पारधी, आदिम आवास अंतर्गत 1200 कोटी रुपये खर्चून एक लाख घरे बांधण्यात येणार आहेत.
  • यशवंतराव चव्हाण मुक्त वसती अंतर्गत 50 हजार घरांसाठी 600 कोटींची तरतूद करण्यात आली आहे.
  • विमुक्त जाती-भटक्या जमातींसाठी 25 हजार घरे आणि धनगर समाजासाठी 25 हजार घरे असतील.
