All participants in public education system would be able to apply online for Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar Yojana. About Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar Yojana 2024

Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik launched the Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar Yojana initially on 16 November 2022 for all participants in the public education system, for their outstanding efforts in achieving academic brilliance and holistic development of schools. This puraskar recognizes the value of meritorious students not only in the field of academics but also in co-curricular fields. It also highlights the good work of educators and other key stakeholders in government and govt. aided schools who not only help in creating informed and active citizens but also go beyond their duty to inspire students to aspire and dream for greater heights. 

The Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar honours more than 50,000 Students, 1,500 Principals, the School Management Committee, alumni, the Gram Panchayat, and the District Administrators. The State Government’s Mo School Abhiyan is identified as the nodal agency to rollout the Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar from the session 2023-2024. Mo School is a citizen-government partnership in which the former leads in designing the programme, defining its goals and directing its implementation.

The introduction of Mukhyamantri Sikhya Puraskar, a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country, supplements the transformative initiatives in school education sector in Odisha, thereby empowering its learners, educators, teachers, head teachers, alumni, PRI members, SMC/SMDC members and education administrators. Mukhyamantri Sikhya Puraskar paves the way for a world beyond compare. With each step forward, a revolution will unfold. Odisha is crafting a landscape where every child will succeed.

Objectives of Mukhyamantri Sikhya Puraskar Yojana

The Mukhyamantri Shikhya Puraskar incentivizes and rewards students and stakeholders at all levels of the education ecosystem in Odisha to

• Recognize, Reward and Incentivize good preforming stakeholders at all levels and set them on the path to be the education leaders of the future.
• Reward, Recognize and Incentivize students to excel in academics and to make them socially and emotionally aware citizens.
• Create healthy competition amongst districts, blocks, clusters and schools leading to holistic improvement of the school education ecosystem.

Mukhyamantri Shikhya Puraskar Yojana 2024 Registration  

• First of all, visit the Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar Yojana official website https://msp.odisha.gov.in/

• At the homepage, click at the "Create Account" button to open a pop up window for user account creation using mobile number as shown below:-

• Enter mobile number and click "Verify" button. Then enter OTP received on your mobile number to verify it.
• Next page to select award type under Mukhyamantri Sikhya Puraskar Yojana will appear as shown below:-

• Select award type as either 'Individual' or 'Institutional'. For instance, we have selected award type as individual and then you will have to select award name.

• For eg- we have selected award name as "Teacher Award (Elementary)" and then Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar Yojana online registration form 2024 will appear as shown below:-

• Finally, fill in all the details in the Mukhyamantri Shikhya Puraskar Yojana application form and then "Submit" it to complete registration process.

Last year the application forms were invited from 4 November 2023 to 17 November 2023.

Mukhyamantri Shikhya Puraskar Yojana In Odisha Budget 2023-2024

Finance minister has presented Odisha Budget 2023-24 on 24 February 2023. While delivering the Odisha Budget Speech, Finance Minister said that Odisha govt. has launched Mukhya Mantri Shikhya Puraskar to encourage healthy competition and to recognize excellence in the transformed schools and other schools of the state. In this scheme:-

• A total of 34,500 students will be felicitated with academic award. Leadership award will be given to 17,118 students and scholarships to a total of 2000 meritorious students based on 10th board result and economic criteria. 
• A total of 700 teachers, 419 Head Masters, 58 Cluster Resource Centre Coordinators (CRCCs), 10 Block Education Officers and 3 District Education Officers will be given award for Secondary School category. 
• Under Elementary School category, 350 Head Masters will be felicitated along with 319 Teachers.
• 1307 schools, 3 best DIETs will be awarded under the institutional category in the Elementary level.
• 3 districts, 10 blocks, 1057 schools, 414 Best Gram Panchayats, 419 Best School Management Committees, 419 Best Alumni Committees will be awarded at the Secondary level.

• An amount of Rs. 139 crore is proposed for the Mukhyamantri Shikhya Puraskar Yojana.
