Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is inviting Yuvika scheme 2024 online registration form at jigyasa.iirs.gov.in. YUva VIgyani KAryakram is special programme for school children to address their curosity regarding celestial phenomenon. Young Scientist Programme aims to impart basic knowledge on Space Technology, Space Science and Space Applications to the younger students in emerging trends in space science and technology amongst the youngsters. 

ISRO Young Scientist Programme 2024

ISRO Young Scientist Programme is aimed at creating awareness amongst the youngsters who are the future building blocks of our nation. ISRO has chalked out Yuvika Scheme to "Catch them young". Yuva Vigyani Karyakram is also expected to encourage more students to pursue in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) based research /career.

Parameters of Selection in Yuva Vigyani Karyakram 

The selection of participants in the year 2024 would be done on the basis of following parameters:-
  • Marks obtained in Class 8. Its weightage is 50%. 
  • Performance in the Online quiz. Its weightage is 10%
  • Participation in science fair (school / district / state & above level in last 3 years). Its weightage is 2/5/10%.
  • Rank in Olympiad or equivalent (1 to 3 rank in school / district / state & above level in last 3 years). Its weightage is 2/4/5%.
  • Winner of sports competitions (1 to 3 rank in school / district / state & above level in last 3 years). Its weightage is 2/4/5%.
  • Scout and guides / NCC / NSS member in last three years. Its weightage is 5%.
  • Studying in village / rural school located in panchayat area. Its weightage is 15%

Important Dates for Yuvika Scheme Registration

  • Announcement of Programme - 15 Feb 2024
  • Start date of online registration - 20 Feb 2024
  • Last date of online registration - 20 March 2024
  • Release of 1st selection list - 28 March 2024
  • Release of 2nd selection list (due to vacancy / non-confirmation in first selection list) - 4 April 2024
  • Reporting by selected students at respective ISRO centres - 12 May 2024 or as intimated by ISRO through registered email of student.
  • Yuvika programme - 13 to 24 May 2024
  • Send off date for selected students from respective centre - 25 May 2024.

Yuvika Scheme Online Registration Form 2024

  • Fill in all the details asked in the Antriksh Jigyasa online registration form to register in ISRO Antariksha Jigyasa Platform.
  • Verify your email as received after successful registration in above website. Please click on the verification link sent to your registered email ID.
  • Participate in SpaceQuiz. Read Quiz guidelines carefully before appearing for the quiz.
  • Fill your personal profile and education details
  • Student need to take photo copy of the certificates and attest the same by the principal/Head of School signing the certificate for verification. The verified certificate needs to scan and upload into the website. The photo copy of attested certificates and certificate for verification need to be uploaded in the website.
  • Generate your certificate for verification by your principal/Head of School/ Parent/ Guardian (Any mismatch observed in the attached certificate (s) by the student and certificate for verification submitted by student will liable for cancellation of candidature of the student)
  • Scan and upload your document and submit the application.

ISRO Centres for Yuvika Scheme Implementation

A minimum participation will be ensured from each State / UT for the implementation of Yuvika Scheme. The programme is planned at 7 centres of ISRO whose names are given below:-
  • Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Dehradun,
  • Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Thiruvananthapuram, 
  • Satish Dhavan Space Centre (SDSC), Sriharikota,
  • U. R. Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), Bengaluru, 
  • Space Application Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad, 
  • National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), Hyderabad 
  • North-East Space Application Centre (NE-SAC), Shillong. 
 

Travel Cost / Course Material in Yuvika Scheme 

Expenditure towards only the travel of selected student (II AC train fare or AC (including Volvo) bus fare by State Government or authorized transport from nearest Railway Station/ Bust terminal to the reporting centre and back). Student needs to produce original ticket of travel for reimbursement of travel fare from respective ISRO centre. In case the student has not travelled by the II AC train (II AC class), the maximum reimbursement of fare will be limited to II AC train fare only.

The course material, lodging and boarding etc., during the entire course will be borne by ISRO. Student studying in Class '9' as on Jan 01, 2024 within India is eligible to apply.
