As per the government release "Rozgar Mela is a step towards the fulfilment of the commitment of the Prime Minister to accord the highest priority to employment generation. PM Rozgar Mela Scheme will act as a catalyst in further employment generation and provide meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment and participation in national development directly".
The new appointees with their innovative ideas and role-related competencies, will be contributing, inter alia, in the task of strengthening industrial, economic and social development of the nation thereby helping to realise the Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat. The newly inducted appointees are also getting an opportunity to train themselves through Karmayogi Prarambh, an online module on iGOT Karmayogi portal, where more than 800 e-learning courses have been made available for ‘anywhere any device’ learning format.
February 2024 Update on PM Rozgar Mela Scheme
Last edition of PM Rozgar Mela Scheme before Indian general elections was addressed by PM Modi on 12 Feb 2024. The recruitment drive aims to fill vacancies in Central government offices. Over 1 lakh appointment letters have been distributed during the event.
The cumulative appointments with the help of the expedited recruitment drive are expected to hover around eight lakh, a shortfall of two lakh appointments against the target of 10 lakh jobs as announced by the Prime Minister in 2022.
On June 14, 2022, Mr. Modi announced that 10 lakh existing Central government vacancies will be filled on a "mission mode". General elections are due in April to June 2024.
November 2023 Update on PM Rojgar Mela Scheme
PM Modi has distributed 51,000 appointment letters to newly inducted recruits on 30th November, 2023 at 4 PM via video conferencing. He also addressed the appointees on the occasion. Event for PM Rojgar Mela Scheme was held at 37 locations across the country. The recruitments are taking place across Central Government Departments as well as State Governments/UTs supporting this initiative.
The new recruits under PM Rozgar Mela Scheme, selected from across the country will be joining the Government in various Ministries/Departments. It includes Department of Revenue, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Higher Education, Department of School Education and Literacy, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and Ministry of Labour & Employment, among others.
October 2023 Update on PM Rozgar Mela
PM Modi on 28 October 2023 distributed over 51,000 appointment letters to newly inducted recruits via video conferencing. Youths who received appointment letters will get jobs in- Home ministry,

August 2023 Update on Rojgar Mela Yojana
Earlier on 28 August 2023, PM distributed 51000 appointment letters to youths at a function held at 45 locations across the country in which Ministry of Home Affairs was recruiting personnel in various central armed police forces (CAPFs). It included job opportunities in the following:-- Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF),
- Border Security Force (BSF),
- Shashtra Seema Bal (SSB),
- Assam Rifles,
- Central Industrial Security Force (CISF),
- Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP),
- Narcotics control Bureau (NCB) and
- Delhi Police.
The new recruits, selected from across the country, will be joining the various positions such as Constable (General Duty), Sub-Inspector (General Duty) and Non–General Duty Cadre Posts in various organisations under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the new appointees for their selection as "Amrit Rakshak" during the Amrit Kaal. Amrit Rakshaks are assigned the duty to serve the country and also protect the country and the countrymen. PM even underlined that this edition of Rozgar Mela is taking place at a time when the nation is filled with pride and confidence. He said that Chandrayaan 3 and the Pragyan Rover are constantly transmitting the latest images of the Moon.

10 Lakh Jobs in 18 Months in PM Rojgar Mela
Despite recruiting around 7.22 lakh youths in several departments, central govt discovered that there are 8.72 lakh more open positions to be filled in. PM Rozgar Mela Online Registration / Application Form
As the recruitment under PM Rojgar Mela 2024 would be coducted by respective ministries or by SSC, UPSC or RRB, so youths will have to apply online. As per the official statement issued, all Ministries and Departments will work to fil up vacancies against sanctioned posts in a mission mode. If anyone wants to get job, then he / she will have to fill PM Rojgar Mela Online Registration / Application Form 2024 with the concerned department.Meanwhile, the Opposition flagged the "Rozgar Mela" as a “publicity stunt” launched by the Modi government to cover up its failures in job creation. The Congress demanded that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) deliver on its promise of two crore jobs every year and asked when the promised 16 crore jobs would be provided to the youth.
PM Rozgar Mela Scheme Initial Launch (1st Phase)
Youths of India are always interested in getting govt. job and for such youths, govt. has started PM Rozgar Mela Scheme. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on 22nd October 2022 that 10 lakh jobs in 18 months are to be given to youths. PM Rojgar Mela (PM Job Fair) will be organized across the entire country in various states for youths b/w 18 to 40 years of age. Youths who have completed their 10th, 12th, Graduation Level Education or any course as per the eligibility for that job can apply for vacancies in mega job fair scheme.On the inaugural day of PM rozgar mela scheme 1st phase, over 75,000 people were provided with appointment letters for various posts in government departments to mark the 75th year of Independence. The Prime Minister noted that the large economies were struggling under the global economic situation, highlighting problems such as high inflation and unemployment.
Referring to the "Rozgar Mela" as an essential milestone for creating employment in the country, Modi emphasised, "Despite this global crisis, India is undertaking new initiatives to save our country from being affected by these problems. We are working to soften this impact on our country."
Modi Job Scheme registration process already started from 22 October 2022. In the first phase of PM Rojgar Mela Scheme, around 75000 candidates were given appointment letters. PMO had issued directions which serve as the basis for scheduling mega recruitment drive. Earler, PM Modi in June 2022 urged the ministries to start filling up the vacant positions in their departments and thus the recruitment campaign has now started.
