Karnataka Kashi Yatra Subsidy Scheme Registration 2024: Apply Online for Rs. 5000 Assistance

Good news for pilgrims, Karnataka government has started Kashi Yatra Subsidy Scheme Registration 2024. A new Karnataka Kashi Yatra website is launched to enable those who wants to go to pilgrimage to fill Kashi travel subsidy application form. Any eligible person can apply online for Rs. 5000 assistance on travelling from Karnataka to Kashi (Other names - Banaras, Varanasi) of Uttar Pradesh state.

Karnataka govt. has given approval to Kashi Yatra Scheme 2024. A website has now been launched by CM for pilgrims to apply for the subsidy. Here is how you can apply.

The Kashi Yatra scheme launched by the Karnataka government has two websites accessible through the links - itms.kar.nic.in and sevasindhuservices.karnataka.gov.in. On these 2 websites, pilgrims can apply for Kashi Yatra subsidies and check other related details.

The scheme offers around 30,000 pilgrims cash assistance of ₹5,000 each to take up a pilgrimage to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi. It was announced by Karnataka minister for religious endowment, Hajj and wakf. The state government said it had set aside up to ₹7 crore for this scheme, which was first announced in the budget speech.

How to Apply Online for Kashi Yatra Subsidy

  • First of all, you can go to official website https://itms.kar.nic.in/hrcehome/index.php
  • Once you reached there, you can click on either "Click here for applying for rs. 5000 govt. subsidy for devotees from state visiting Kashi Vishwanatha Temple" link or "Kasi visit govt. subsidy" link.
  • All new users can click "Don't have an account? Register Here" link
  • You will be redirected to Citizen registration page at Seva Sindhu Services Karnataka portal.
  • Enter aadhar number to continue with Digilocker and click "Next".
  • Then enter OTP received on your aadhaar registered mobile number. 
  • Then enter email ID, mobile number, password and click "Submit" button. 
  • You can then perform user verification and then your account will be verified successfully.
  • Fill this Kashi Teerth Yatra application form to apply for govt. subsidy on visiting Kashi Vishwanath Temple. 

Kashi Teerth Yatra Subsidy Scheme Eligibility Criteria 

  • Only those people who are permanent resident of Karnataka would be eligible.
  • Each pilgrim will be eligible for the financial aid only once in their lifetime.
  • The Kashi Yatra Subsidy will be applicable only to those who are above 18 years of age. 
  • Each pilgrim will be required to upload certain documents to avail the Kashi Tirth Yatra subsidy.

Kashi Tirth Yatra Subsidy Scheme List of Documents

To avail the subsidy, people are required to submit documents such as:-
  • Proof of domicile (Voter ID / Aadhaar / Ration Card) 
  • Proof of age (Voter ID / Aadhar / Ration Card) 
  • Bank account details for funds transfer 
  • Covid vaccination certificates may also be necessary
  • Proof of travel may also be a prerequisite to avail Kashi Yatra Subsidy scheme benefits. For this, pilgrims might be required to share transport tickets, photos and other bills.
Kashi Yatra Subsidy came into effect 2 years back i.e from 1 July 2022 and is continuing from then onward. However, those who took up pilgrimage to Kashi earlier from the specified date i.e between 1 April  2022 and 30 June 2022 were also eligible to avail benefits under the scheme if they furnish proof of their visit to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, such as their darshan ticket, waiting list or their pooja receipt.

A special train called the Bharat Gaurav is also running, which cover places like Varanasi, Ayodhya and Prayagraj in UP. A subsidy of ₹5,000 will be granted to beneficiaries and the train has bogies that resemble important temples.
