Jagananna Pachhathoranam in AP Budget 2024-25

On 7th February 2024, Finance Minister presented AP Budget 2024-25. While presenting the Andhra Pradesh Budget, FM said "During 2023-24, massive plantation campaign was carried out under Jagananna Pachhathoranam by planting 5.11 crore seedlings involving multiple stakeholders. In addition, under the Nagaravanam scheme, the government is developing climate resilient cities by managing and expanding green spaces".

Objectives of AP Jagananna Pacha Thoranam Scheme 2024 

Andhra Pradesh government has launched an extensive program AP Jagananna Pacha Thoranam Scheme in the state. This scheme aims to achieve balanced climate and environmental protection. Increasing 33% greenery in line with the National Forest Policy, the forest department conducts an annual planting program during the monsoon season. Ministers and public representatives in all the districts have made arrangements to launch the AP Jagananna Pacha Thoranam sapling program.

Planting of Trees in AP YSR Jagananna Colonies

The Forest Department has been planting trees in public and private nurseries, timber mills, and community gardens since the onset of the monsoon season each year. This time along with them, plants will be planted in 17,000 YSR Jagananna colonies.

 

Plants will be planted in schools and hospitals as part of the Nadu-Nedu scheme. Around 33.23 crore Saplings were planted in the state in the last two years.

5 Crore Saplings in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh State Power, Forest, Environment, Science and Technology Minister said plans were afoot to plant five crore saplings across the state during the forest festival. A senior official reviewed the arrangements for the CM's visit in the wake of the inauguration of the planting program.
