[Apply] Odisha Madhu Babu Pension Yojana (MBPY) Online Application Form 2024 at ssepd.gov.in

Odisha government is inviting online applications for Madhu Babu Pension Yojana (MBPY) 2024. This scheme was launched in January 2008 where state govt. merged two old schemes. These 2 schemes were Revised Old Age Pension Rules, 1989 Et Disability Pension Rules, 1985 and introduced the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana Rules, 2008. Accordingly, people can now apply by filling Odisha Madhu Babu Pension Yojana (MBPY) online application form 2024 at ssepd.gov.in

The official website of ssepd is now functional and govt. is accepting MBPY apply online forms for social security pension schemes. Those people whose name is not present in the Madhu Babu Pension scheme list of beneficiaries can make online MBPY registration. After registering themselves, such persons would be eligible for the pension benefits.

Madhu Babu Pension Yojana Latest Update

The Odisha government on 10th February 2024 hiked pension amount by Rs. 500 for beneficiaries under Madhu Babu Pension Yojana. The minimum monthly pension amount under the social security scheme will be Rs. 1,000 instead of Rs. 500. The beneficiaries will get enhanced amount from February onwards. 

The pension holders who used to get Rs. 500 would now avail Rs. 1,000. The ones who were getting Rs. 700 and Rs. 900 would avail pension of Rs. 1,200 and Rs. 1,400 respectively. The beneficiaries will receive the minimum enhanced amount between February 20 and February 25. The state will spend an additional Rs. 3,683 crore on this account only.

Currently, 36.75 lakh beneficiaries are availing of pensions under the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana. Those below the age of 80 will get Rs. 1,000 and those beyond 80 years will get a Rs. 1,200 pension per month. People above 80 years having 60 per cent disabilities will get a Rs. 1,400 pension per month.

Transgenders, AIDS patients, unmarried women, leprosy patients, persons with disabilities, widows and orphans of Covid-affected families have also been covered under the social security scheme.

Madhu Babu Pension Yojana in Odisha Budget 2024-25

On 8th February 2024, Finance Minister presented Odisha Budget 2024-25. While presenting the budget, FM said "We have been sensitive to the needs of all vulnerable sections of society and taken steps to provide Social Security Pensions to universalise the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana. I propose to allocate Rs. 3,980 crore for around 53 lakh beneficiaries under Social Security Pension Schemes".

Below is the complete process to apply online by filling Odisha Madhu Babu Pension Yojana application form:-
  • Firstly visit the official website at http://ssepd.gov.in/
  • At the homepage, scroll down to reach "Apply For Schemes / Services" section as shown here:-
  • Upon clicking at this 'Apply for Schemes / Services' button to open the "Application for Beneficiary" page:-
  • Here choose scheme name as "Madhu Babu Pension Yojana" and click at the "Proceed" button.
  • Accordingly, the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana online application form will appear as shown below:-
  • In this MBPY apply online form, applicants needs to enter the asked information accurately and upload necessary certificates. 
Finally, applicants can click at the "Submit" button to complete the MBPY online application process. 

Eligibility Criteria to Apply Online for MBPY Scheme in Odisha

A person will be eligible for pension if he / she:-
  1. is of 60 years of age and above
  2. Or, is a widow (irrespective of age) (WP)
  3. Or, is a leprosy patient with visible signs of deformity (irrespective of age).
  4. Or, is a person of 0 years of age or, above and unable to do normal work due to his/her deformity or disability being blind or, orthopedically handicapped or, mentally retarded or, with cerebral palsy.
  5. Or, a widow of AIDS patient (irrespective of age and income criteria mentioned under Rule 6(b).
  6. Or, an AIDS patient identified by the State / District AIDS Control Society (irrespective of income as under Rule 6 (b).
  7. has family income from all sources not exceeding Rs. 24,000/- per annum (Tahasildar concerned to certify)
  8. ls a permanent resident / domicile of Odisha.
Furthermore, person must not be in receipt of any other pension from the union Government or the state government or any organization aided by either Government.

Financial norms for Madhu Babu Pension Yojana

A person who is the beneficiary of Madhu Babu Pension Yojana will get the following benefits:-
--- Rs. 500 per month to all beneficiaries b/w 60 to 79 years of age.
--- Rs. 700 per month to all beneficiaries of 80 years or above age.

The pension due to beneficiary gets disbursed on 15th of every month, on JANA SEWA DlWAS in denomination of Rs 100 by BDO or any officer subordinate to BDO (in rural area) in Gram Panchayat office and by DSSO or any officer subordinate to DSSO at municipal office in the urban area.

Who are Major Beneficiaries of Madhu Babu Pension Yojana

This Madhu Babu Pension Yojana has been launched to provide social securities of old and destitute persons. The major beneficiaries are:-
A) Old and aged persons of 60 years of age and above.
B) Widows irrespective of age.
C) Persons affected by Hansen’s diseases/ Leprosy with visible signs of deformity irrespective of age.
D) Unmarried women over thirty years of age.
E) Persons with Disabilities.
F) AIDS patients.

Procedure for Offline Registration under MBPY

To get such pension the beneficiaries has to apply in the prescribed form to the concerned B.D.Os/ E.Os. The prescribed form on MBPY is as per Annexure-A of guidelines PDF - https://ssepd.gov.in/system/download/mbpy%20guidelines.pdf

Application forms may be obtained free of cost from the Office of the Block Development Officer or Executive Officer of the Municipality/NAC concerned. The Sanctioning Authority is The Sub-Collector who sanctions pension in favour of the beneficiaries on the recommendation of the B.D.Os. The eligible applications are being sanctioned on first come first serve basis from the waiting list.

Mode of Payment

The pension is being disbursed to the beneficiaries in shape of Cash at G.P head quarters on a fixed date i.e. 15th of each month i.e. on the Jana Seva Divas after due identification by the PRI members. To ensure transparency, there would be dissemination of beneficiaries list in the Block Office & G.P office.

Madhu Babu Pension Yojana is a social welfare scheme launched by the government of Odisha in India. The scheme provides financial assistance to elderly, widows, and disabled persons who are below the poverty line.
